Campaign Update: 4000 vote in support of solar, and Alinta Energy joins the call

The votes are in.

Over the last 2 weeks, 4053 local residents of Port Augusta have voted in support of solar thermal. And 43 voted for gas. It is clear that the community supports solar for the employment opportunities, health and environmental benefits.

And on Friday Alinta Energy, the company that owns the Northern and Playford B coal plants, got behind the proposal and publicly stated they will consider building solar thermal in Port Augusta.

Tell the Premier and the Minister why you voted solar

Thanks for voting for solar.

Help spread the word by emailing the Premiers office below telling him why you support solar thermal for Port Augusta.

Dear Premier Weatherill and Minister Koutsantonis,

I recently participated in a community vote in Port Augusta to choose between solar thermal and gas as the replacement for our closing coal stations.

I voted for solar and I wanted to email you to let you know why and encourage you to support a transition in Port Augusta to solar thermal.
